We have come across a case regarding our hostel that is very unusual as. In this year end, without any prior warning, the Tee Kay Kee middle school had suddenly asked the parents of our Christian hostel kids to sign an agreement to move their kids to the school hostel. Because of this reason, the Hostel Committee feels that we do not have any more kids left in the hostel, so they decided to close the hostel.

สิ้นปีการศึกษานี้ เราต้องเผชิญกับความไม่ปกติเกี่ยวกับหอพักของเรา โดยไม่ทราบมากก่อน เนื่องจากโรงเรียนบ้านทีเกะคี(ห้วยโค้ง) ให้ผู้ปกครองของเด็ก ที่พักอยู่ในหอพักคริสเตียนของเรา ไปเซ็นสัญญาให้เด็กไปอยู่ที่หอพักโรงเรียน ด้วยเหตุนี้กรรมการหอพักจึงคาด ว่าปีการศึกษาหน้าคงไม่มีเด็กนักเรียนมาพักในหอพักนี้อีก จึงลงมติให้ปิดหอพักทีเกะคีนี้
While we are working to start the new hostel at Omkoi district for the students who have finished their 6th grade and have to move on to Omko to continue to go 7th grade, many parents approached us to accept their children  in our new hostel. we are much worried that we will not be able to help too many students. ขณะที่เรากำลังเริ่มหอพักของเราในอ.อมก๋อย สำหรับเด็กโตที่จบประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 เพื่อจะศึกษาต่อในมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 นั้น ผู้ปกครองของเด็กหลายคนมาพบเรา และขอเราให้รับลูกของเขาในหอพักใหม่ของเราด้วย แต่เรากังวลว่าจะไม่สามารถที่จะรับเด็กจำนวนมากในขณะนี้ เราจึงต้องบอกปฏิเสธไป
We need prayers for this Omkoi hostel, and we name this hostel, “Coffee hostel (Omkoi)”, as all are staffs are looking forward to take on this burden by working hard and earn through Coffee project with the blessing of our heavenly Father.. เราต้องการคำอธิฐานเผื่อหอพักที่อมก๋อยแห่งนี้ เราตั้งชื่อหอพักนี้ว่า หอพักกาแฟ(อมก๋อย) เพราะทีมงานหอพักนี้ล้วนเป็นอาสาสมัคร ซึ่งจะเลี้ยงชีพด้วยรายได้จากโครงการ กาแฟที่กำลังทำกันอยู่ในขณะนี้ และด้วยพระพรจากพระเจ้าผ่านทางเพื่อนร่วมพันธกิจ

ขอ ขอบคุณ ผู้มีอุปการคุณเหล่านี้ ที่พยายามช่วยเหลือทุน การศึกษา ให้กับเด็กนักเรียน ที่จะจบจากโรงเรียนบ้านทีเกะคี(บ้านห้วยโค้ง) เพื่อจะศึกษาต่อในระดับการศึกษาที่สูงขึ้น ที่อำเภออมก๋อย เราพยายามที่จะประชาสัมพันธ์หาทุน เพื่อเติมเต็มค่าใช้จ่ายในการเล่าเรียนต่อของเด็กๆ

ค่าใช้ จ่ายจริงในระดับมัธยมจะตกอยู่ประมาณ 7,000 บาท/ปี/คน และเราพยายามหาทุนใหเด็กคนละ 4,000  บาทต่อปี ส่วนที่เหลื่อให้ผู้ปกครองเติมเต็ม

We are thankful for all supporter who tries to help school children who will be  in grade 7 in year 2009 studying at Omkoi secondary school. We are trying to inform those who are willing to help. They can help as they feel they wish to do.

The actual need for each child is about 7,000 Baht in a year. We try to help each child 4,000 Baht  and we insist that the parents should try to fill up the rest.

General Situation At The Hostel

ถึง แม้เด็กๆเหล่านี้จะไม่ได้รับความช่วยโดยตรงเหลือจากสปอนด์เซอร์แบบส่วนตัว เหมือนเด็กคนอื่น แต่ด้วยพระพรของพระเจ้า เราได้รับความช่วยเหลือจากคุณนพดลและเพื่อนๆ ด้านข้าวสารอย่างพอเพียง ส่วนค่าอาหารนั้นช่วงเปิดเทอมใหม่ๆค่อนข้างลำบาก เพราะเราขอความช่วยเหลือให้เด็กได้เพียง 15 บาท/คน/วันเท่านั้น และเราขอความช่วยเหลือเพียง 4000 บาท ต่อเด็กหนึ่งคน เพราะเราจะให้ผู้ปกครองของเด็กขช่วยเหลือส่วนหนึ่งด้วย เพราะค่าใช้จ่ายจริงของเด็กอยู่ที่คนละกว่า 7000 บาทต่อคนต่อปี แต่เด็กมาอยู่กับเราจริงๆถึง 26 คน และผู้ปกครองของเด็กก็แทบไม่สามารถช่วยเหลือได้เลย ส่วนหนึ่งของความช่วยเหลือใช้ไปกับการสร้างอาคารชั่วคราวและห้องน้ำ อย่างประหยัดที่สุด

These children do not get support from the sponsors like other children, but by the grace of God they got more than enough support of rice from Mark Noppadol and friends. As for food expenses during school starts  has been critical because we got only 15 Baht /day/child and request for 4,000 Baht per child per year and their parents support another portion. The actual expenses for each children per year is 7,000 Baht. We have 26 children but most of their parents are not able to support even the other portion. Another expense  is on a temporary building and rest room.
ต่อมา Isolated Karen Mission เริ่มยื่นมือเข้ามาทางด้านอาหารบางส่วน และได้รับการสนับสนุนจากเพื่อนๆในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่บางคนด้วยการถวายสิบลดของ ตนเอง เพื่อนๆหลายคนช่วยเหลือทั้งๆที่ยังเป็นนักศึกษาอยู่ หลังจากนั้น Isolated Karen Mission และคุณนพดลและเพื่อนเริ่มเพิ่มความช่วยเหลือด้านค่าอาหาร(กับข้าว) ทำให้ภาระด้านอาหารสำหรับหอพักนี้เริ่มคลี่คลายลง

Later Isolated Karen Mission started to help with some food, and group of friends in Chiangmai help with their tithes although some of them are just students. Mark Noppadol and friends also started to support with food and we were able solve this problem.

และ เมื่อวันที่ 1 เดือนสิงหาคมที่ผ่านมา มีเด็กกำพร้ามาขออยู่กับเราอีก 10 คน ในขณะที่หอพักเราก็ยังเป็นอาคารไม้ไผ่ชั่วคราวและยังคงขนาดเท่าเดิม ความพยายามต่อไปของเราจึงต้องเป็นความพยายามเรื่องอาคาร เพราะอาคารไม้ไผ่ของเราเริ่มที่จะมีมอดมากัดกิน และและเริ่มมีผงไม้ไผ่ปลิวลงมา ทำให้เด็กเกิดอาการคันตามเนื้อตามตัว ส่วนคานด้านล่างก็เป็นคานไม้ที่เรายืมคนอื่นมาและเจ้าของก็จำเป็นก็จะต้อง ใช้ในเร็วๆนี้แล้ว

On August 1, 2009 We have received 10 orphanage children although our temporary building and have not expand. Thus our challenge is to expand and build a stronger building because the bamboo used has been eaten by insects and the particle from the bamboo that are all over the building is causing allergy and skin problem the children. Moreover, the wooden post we borrowed for the building needs to be return to the owner because they have to use it for their own building soon.

ทีมงานของเรายังคงมีจิตใจที่เข้มแข็ง ถึงแม้ช่วงนี้กาแฟยังไม่ถึงเวลาเก็บเกี่ยวเพื่อที่จะขายและแปรรูป ขณะเดียวกันเราเริ่มคิดโครงการให้แม่บ้านของเราทั้งสองหอพักให้ทอผ้าขาย เพื่อหารายได้จุนเจือครอบครัว

 Our hostel parents are still hanging on tight although their coffee trees are not yet ready for harvesting. At the time being we came up with a weaving project for our hostel mothers to generate income for their families.
