nine students attended this Summer camp and we had 9 guest speakers. The first guest speaker was Ms. Day Day, Master in management, Payap University. She has been the core of Summer Camp in Omkoi for all three years. The second guest speaker was Mr. Bread Ler, Programmer and a talented musician. The third and the fourth speakers were Jess and Heidi, two volunteer ladies from The Mennonite USA by GTO. They have been serving the children at Omkoi for three months. Special thanks to both of them for serving the Omkoi children when there was a difficult situation. The fifth and the sixth guest speakers were Mr. Chi Suwichan and his wife Kuh Wa. They are Karen singers and well known who have won a number of awards from both the government and the private sector of Thailand. They have also received recognition from oversea organizations. The seventh guest speaker was Mr. Gaylord. His wife Mrs. Kay was also in attendance. They are Jess’s parents. Who stayed with us to encourage us and help us through this Summer Camp until the last day. The eighth guest speaker was Prateep Dee(Tim) and my younger brother. He is a Master in English teaching at Chiangmai University. He is a former flight attendant instructor of Thai Air Way and now assistant secretary of TKBC. The tenth person was Mr. Chana and Mrs. Orrasa, the elder of Thammanikom Church, who contacted Chi to come to teach and entertain this Summer Camp. They paid for many expenses for this camp.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Daily about 3.5 trays of eggs are collected from our Food Project. A sack of chicken feed can feed the chickens for 2 days. Some eggs are sold to buy chicken feed. Average profit is 1 tray per day. Thanks to all our friends who buy our egg so that we can buy food for our chicken again.<\/span>

After class finished, in the evening the speakers requested to visit the Food Project. I received many good recommendations from Chi and Brother Chana. If this project can produce the food efficiently season after season we can help more children who want to come and stay in our hostel for high school in Omkoi.\u00a0 It will provide more opportunity for children to study in primary school at Maw Kler Kee.\u00a0 There are also dreams for other hostels in the future to serve more Karen children.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

It likes to curl up and sleep under the bamboo trees. It goes out to find food at during night by water. It is not a fierce but if people step on it or get in its way while it is chasing its prey. Usually a Krait is drowsy during the day and active at night. The Krait is a poisonous snake. \u00a0A toxic bite can damage the nervous and blood system. Since school will soon start again and I am already at Omkoi which is half way to Maw Kler Kee I was concerned about enough rice for Maw Kler Kee Hostel. When school starts during raining season it is not easy to take rice there. So I took this opportunity to take rice to Maw Kler Kee. I was able to take 10 sacks of rice, 2 sacks of fish food, 2 rolls of pipes to bring water to the hostel. I decided to connect the pipe directly from the creek. The pipe I brought last time was not enough. When we first moved to this land three years ago the area around this hostel had no shade. Now there are some taller trees so we can grow some coffee trees under the shade of these trees. When we came back to Omkoi at about 21.50 pm Nui, Sawan and TreeTep already fixed hostel’s roof. But the next day Nui and Sawan’s eyes were very painful and red because when they were welding the steel roof they did not have proper eye protection. We bought eye drops and antibiotics for them. When I asked Mr. Gaylord who has a lot of experience about welding, he told us to put a sliced potato on their eyes every 15 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
