We usually arrange a camp for children when they are out of school for summer holiday. Then the students at Payap University are out of class also and help conduct a camp program for our children. This gives the Payap students a project for the summer, and experience in ministering to children. This summer ministry was started several years ago when we asked the Karen students at Payap International University to help us with the camp. The Payap students are encouraged to share their knowledge<\/span>, experience, and songs with the children. The Payap students are also asked to play games with the children. The summer camp this time was beset by several problems because the Omkoi hostel building needed to be repaired and the Maw Kler Kee Hostel need to moved to the new location (at a former cemetery). We were not able to have our summer program in the mountains, or outside our hostel, because of concern\u00a0 about being present for finishing repair on our hostel building at both Omkoi and Maw Kler Kee.\u00a0 Also, were not totally prepared with planning for food for the camp program so we could not invite as many children as usual.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Tin Oo, from Chaingmai Christian Fellowship, if he would help recruit Karen students from Payap University to teach\u00a0 for our summer camp at the Omkoi coffee hostel. \u00a0He <\/span><\/span>arranged <\/span><\/span>Master Clean from KTBC, Insein<\/span><\/span> Bible collage, Master Thra Tun Kwaw Thein, from the Bible league, Brother John and Brother Chalom, from Payap University\u00a0 Chingmai to help us for this camp.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

We arrived in the evening of April 16. Early morning 6:30 am. Ms. Clean did not waste the time because she had only one day to teach the children. She taught the children in the girls\u2019 dorm (where she slept because we have limited space). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

The attendance at the camp was primarily girls; only two boys. \u00a0We were not able to contact our male students because it was school holiday and they had gone back to their villages, some quite remote.\u00a0 And some of the boys were working at jobs and could not come.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n
