Since the only school by the Border Police in the surrounding area of the Maw Kler Kee village in Mae U Su district, Tak province (connected to Omkoi district) is uncertain with the time table : no class when teacher is absent, the children in this area have to go to school in another village, very far away. Thus, parents can spend time with their children only on school holidays. This is another challenging problem that need to be solved. In December 2008 we had a meeting with the head of the village for the solution.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

We found out that a government school can be operated\u00a0 and supported when there are at least 60 students attending the school. Therefore, we started the hostel for the students in primary level as a pilot project to serve the prime demand of the government\u2019s policy. We have a member of our coffee farmers and his family who volunteer to help as the hostel parents, looking after the children and teaching them Ethics and sense of home village belonging.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n
